About the Editor

Kate Rowan is a part-time student, full-time mom.
When she's not studying or homeschooling her three kids,
she enjoys hiking around her home in Cedar Hills, Utah, and watercolor painting.
All of the art pieces seen in this magazine are her own.
Kate's interest in the subject of LDS culture, with a focus on faith deconstruction, began when she met her husband 12 years ago. He was transitioning out of the LDS Church, and she had lots to learn. She was raised in a very fluid and open home, religiously, and had never experienced the rigidity that the LDS Church expected from its members. She labels herself a Pantheist most of the time.
The last 12 years has taught Kate that ex-Mormons are emotional bad asses, who deserve our respect, love, and appreciation for the hurdles they endure to rebuild their lives.
This magazine is dedicated to them.
“Don’t families stay together?” “Not necessarily,” he told me. “Earth ties have less meaning here after death. Relationships of thought, not blood, are what count.”
